Biography

Denji is a young devil hunter living in extreme poverty, burdened by his late father's debt to the Yakuza. His only companion is Pochita, a chainsaw devil who serves as his pet and partner in devil hunting. After being betrayed and killed by the Yakuza, Denji is revived by Pochita, merging with him to become the titular Chainsaw Man—a human-devil hybrid with chainsaws sprouting from his arms and head. Driven by simple desires like eating good food, finding love, and living comfortably, Denji’s straightforward and relatable personality contrasts sharply with the chaos and violence surrounding him. As a member of the Public Safety Devil Hunters, he faces increasingly dangerous devils while uncovering dark truths about the world and himself.
